Krark, the Thumbless & Sakashima of a Thousand Faces

Krark Sakashima Storm is a popular competitive Izzet Commander deck that pivots between playing control and storming off. On average, it wins on Turn 5; most often, it wins on Turn 4.

Adding Krark triggers to payoffs for casting instants and sorceries makes spells like Rite of Flame‌ and Gitaxian Probe win the game. With 2 Krark triggers, your instants and sorceries have a 50% chance to have Buyback stapled onto them. The more Krark triggers, the better.

If you enjoy flipping coins, slinging spells, taking game actions, and laughing at your misfortune, you will likely enjoy Krark Sakashima Storm.

  • Powerful engine in the command zone

  • Favored in grindy Midrange games

  • Hard to disrupt once you’re flipping coins

Cons:

  • Weak to heavy Stax

  • Outpaced by Turbo decks

  • Middling average card quality
